June is the month when most people start to think seriously about what they might choose to do during the summer – weather permitting. One of the great things about British summers is that when it comes to special events, motorists are well catered for. Whether you enjoy car shows, or are more interested in motorbikes, there is plenty to think about. Summer is full of great car events, and 2016 is no exception – there are plenty of exciting days out to attend with the family this year.
Goodwood Festival of Speed
The event runs from the 23rd to the 26th of June this year and the organisers are expecting thousands of classic car owners to take part. Whether you take part in the event or just enjoy watching others, this is generally very well attended. The event takes place in the parkland around Goodwood House. There is no entry fee, but the event is only open to classic car owners. Visit the Classic Shows website for times and further information. If you are thinking about late summer before the children go back to school, the following event may be more attractive.
Classics on the Green
Classics on the Green is a classic car event that takes place on Croxley Green at Ricksmansworth in Hertfordshire. The event takes place on the 3rd of August this year, and is billed as the largest classics show that takes place mid-week. The show has been running for thirteen years and attracts up to 1800 cars. CotG starts at three in the afternoon and goes on until late. Entrance is free, but organisers would appreciate donations. Again, you can find out more on the Classic Shows website.
Biker Events
Bikers are well catered for during the summer months and this year is no exception. Take a look at the online biker guide, which has information on what’s taking place during August this year. Whether you like motorcycle shows, rock nights, or rallies, there is plenty to be getting on with this summer.
The Bulldog Bash
Many bikers will be looking forward to the Bulldog Bash, as this August marks the thirtieth year of this particular event. This year there will be plenty to entertain everyone. The event features motorbike stunt shows, live music, fairground attractions, plenty to eat and drink, and lots of trade stands. The event starts on Thursday 11th of August and runs through till Sunday. You can get tickets at the above link.
The Supercar Event
This summer is the tenth anniversary of the Supercar Event, which this year takes place on the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd of July. Tickets are on sale and all the proceeds from the event go to charity – this year it’s the Children’s Trust. There are plenty of surprises and attractions at the show, which is in Dunsford Park, Cranleigh in Surrey. This day out is designed to please all of the family, so it’s definitely worth the drive. Tickets are available, and more details are on the event’s website, which is here.
