Ford Fiesta

Taking first place is the Ford Fiesta, which was bought by 83,664 people in this year alone. Besides being the UK’s best selling car, the model also holds the title for leading car in the super mini section. With the perfect combination of practicality, comfort and economic efficiency, the car suits pretty much any day-to-day need. Whether you go for the entry-level version or the Fiesta ST hot hatch, you’ll sure to love this car just like thousands of other people already do!

Ford Focus

Right up top with the Fiesta is the famous Ford Focus, which was bought by 53,507 people in 2014. Well known as the ‘powerhouse’ of the Ford range, the car is big enough to be family-friendly and is compact enough to keep overall car costs low. Offering a smooth driving experience with enough oomph to get even a boy racer excited, this car is sure to be popular for years to come.

Vauxhall Corsa

With registrations in 2014 alone coming in at 50,187, it doesn’t take a braniac to work out just how good this car is for a classic. Available for a reasonable price or via finance deals, the Corsa continues to hold its fantastic reputation for being a sturdy, reliable and cost-effective model.

Volkswagen Golf

Just under the Corsa with 45,653 sales in 2014, the Volkswagen Golf is a popular family hatchback. Reliable, turbocharged and stylish, the car has all aspects covered. Most famed for its outstandingly judged suspension and its modern VW image, it’s not likely to be forgotten anytime soon.

Vauxhall Astra

Rivalling the Ford Focus is the Vauxhall Astra. With 2014 sales showing 38,621 of these models have been bought, the car can be spotted by anyone across the country. As a sizable, comfortable family-friendly hatchback there are plenty of reasons this model made it onto the list. Offering a stylish, bold design in a nice variety of colours, the GTC couple-like version displays this best.

Although the profiling of each of these cars is different, they do all have something in common (other than making it onto this list, that is). Each car is designed with style in mind and is affordable, efficient and smooth to drive.

Next year, we do expect this list to shift towards newer versions of these models, but as such popular cars it’s likely all 3 of these car manufactures will be featured in similar posts! Until then, let’s enjoy these beauties…
