Early in every new year, everyone is looking forward to a time when the dark days of winter give way to spring, and it’s time to get out and about. Whether you are looking for something that attracts mostly adults, or an event where you can take the whole family, there’s plenty happening in the world of car events this coming year. If you happen to be an enthusiast of a certain type of car, or if you enjoy anything to do with motors, there is a lot to look forward to on both fronts. Whatever your motoring interests, it is well worth taking a look at some of the varied events scheduled for this spring/summer. There are all kinds of family events, as well as those aimed at the serious motor enthusiast, scheduled every year – and 2016 is no exception.
Classic Car Motor Show
If you love classic cars, it may not be too late to go and see the Classic Motor Show in London, providing you do so before the 21st February. There is a great exhibition centre at the show and you may get a chance to speak with dealers and other enthusiasts. 2016 is the London Classic Motor Show’s second year, and the event both helps to generate, and thrives because of, a large classic cars network.
International Ford Show
Ford’s huge range of cars both old and new still has a large fan base here in the UK. If you are an aficionado of Ford motors, the Surrey show runs over the last weekend of April. The show is a new event, both for the area and for Ford cars, and has already generated considerable interest in the motoring world. Sandown Park in Surrey is the show’s venue, and according to commentators it’s generating interest across the world.
The Supercar Event
If you prefer a motor show that has been established for a long time and continues to attract visitors, then the Supercar Event will be celebrating its tenth anniversary this July. The show is one of the sponsors of the Children’s Trust, so if you decide to go, you’ll be contributing to a worthwhile cause. The event is intended for all the family, so it’s well worth a visit, if only to keep the kids amused.
The London Motor Show
Whether you live in London, or you’re just visiting the city, the London Motor Show runs from the 5th to the 8th of May this year and should provide fun for all the family. This year the show will be held in Battersea Park, so there will be plenty of room for younger family members to run around while you are looking at the cars. The show attracts motor enthusiasts, industry professionals, and those looking for a great day out. The show has been running now for a number of years, and has plenty to interest the ordinary motorist. If you are looking for a family day out, this may fit the bill.
